Buffgakari LLC is a Tokyo-based startup building Anilink, a credit database and professional network for the anime industry.
PRODUCT
Anilink makes the work of everyone involved in anime production visible and searchable. We consolidate on-screen credits from more than 50 years of anime — over 25,000 works, 260,000 episodes, and 350,000 credited names — using machine learning for entity resolution together with careful manual verification.
Professionals get an automatically updated portfolio of their credited work. Studios and production staff use Anilink to find collaborators — for example, "everyone credited as animation director alongside this director" — and to check credits against the database before broadcast.
Anilink is a digital-native SaaS business: studios and production companies subscribe to team plans, and individual professionals to personal plans. The service runs entirely on cloud infrastructure.
The service is live in pre-release. Anyone can search and browse; full credit details are open to verified industry professionals — more than 1,200 of whom have already registered — ahead of general availability.
TEAM
Software engineer with many years in cloud and SaaS development, later supporting AI adoption and engineering-team building in the entertainment industry. Founded Buffgakari LLC in April 2026 to develop and operate Anilink.
Anime art director since 2005. Anilink began with her conviction that anime credits should be in the hands of the people who earned them. She advises the service from the perspective of the production floor.
